Hello everyone, bonjour Γ  tous! Today, I want to talk about an important aspect of our language-learning journey: how to handle negative feedback.

I completely understand why some beginners might be scared or hesitant to speak in French and put themselves out there. The fear of criticism is and people being rude about your French is real, (or any other language you are learning.) And the truth is... it does happen occasionally. πŸ™ˆ

Not long ago, I received a (plain rude πŸ˜‚) comment about my 'poor' English pronunciation. And while such comments are extremely rare, and while it doesn't really upset me, it got me thinking about how French beginners might feel if they receive that kind of feedback, especially online.

First and foremost, it's essential to remember that most people are understanding and kind. They respect the effort it takes to learn a new language. Yet, it's true that on rare occasions, someone might offer feedback that is just plain mean.

I want to share some tips with you for those times when you might face some rude feedback about your French

  1. πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ Don't Take It Personally: Often, rude comments from 'trolls' say more about the person giving them than about us. They might be dealing with their own issues.

  2. πŸ” Think About It Objectively: Look at the feedback that you received on your French. If it's constructive, use it to improve. If not, simply ignore it.

  3. πŸ—£οΈ Ask Trusted People for Feedback: Having friends, learning companions or teachers provide genuine, constructive feedback about your French is invaluable. They can guide you more than any negative and rude comment ever could.

  4. 🌟 Rethink Your Environment: Consider changing where you engage, online or not. Surrounding yourself with positive, supportive individuals can make a big difference.

  5. πŸ’– Answer with Kindness or Don't Answer at All: When faced with the decision to reply to rude comments, approach with kindness or just choose not to engage

So those were my tips on how to handle negative criticism on your French. I hope it helps.

Like any journey, learning French has its ups and downs. A few negative comments can't change the hard work you've put in and how much you've learned.

If you needed to hear this today, know that I'm here to support you! Keep going; you've got this! πŸ₯³ And if you've ever got a rude comment about your French and want to get it off your chest, feel free to share it with me!
